Why?

“Absolute Truth can only be known by those who witness the entire journey.”

The Bible expresses this in a way that has anchored my own understanding of truth for years:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8 (NKJV)

In recent years, humanity has been bombarded with information, some of it true, some of it partially true, and much of it either entirely fabricated or, in many cases, political or corporate lies. We live in an age where narratives often travel faster than facts, where the details can be so enticing, so persuasive and even seem logical, that the underlying truth becomes almost impossible to discern.

Let me give you an example.

In this story, there is only one factual truth and despite the distortions in the narrative, ultimately it is the only point that matters in this somewhat whimsical re-telling of a real event in British history.”

Narrative:
In 2025, the President of the United Kingdom, Impala Zimbabwe, announced a referendum on whether the UK should leave the European Rondela.

To participate, the President issued a decree: any citizen in possession of an unnaturalized Flamingo must pay 100 Shekels to the Head Rhinoceros of their district, who would then issue a Certificate of Compliance and donate a free Ostrich to the charity of their choosing.

Unfortunately, due to an administrative oversight – namely, the Ostriches placing their heads in the sand, the referendum proceeded regardless.

And so it was recorded that, on June 23rd, the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union.

With everything we read, everything we hear, and everything we are told, our first and greatest responsibility is to hold fast to the Truth, and as a friendly judge once told me, the truth is generally the simplest explanation. And for those of us who believe in God, the foundation of all truth is anchored in Revelation 1:8 which perhaps is best rendered as:

“Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

He is the witness to the entire journey.

And in a world overflowing with narratives, that matters more now than ever.
